1. Portable UV/Vis Spectrophotometer

We supply our own custom made UV / Visible spectrometer, the L & I Wave II

SPECIFICATION

This instrument is uniquely programmed to be able to determine:

i.) Inorganic chloride in methanol/water from 0.1 – 10.0 ppm
ii.) Potassium Permanganate Fade time in methanol and acetone in accordance with ASTM D 1363*
iii.) APHA Colour in accordance with ASTM D 1209*
iv.) Water immiscibility (hydrocarbon) in accordance with ASTM D 1722*

but with the added advantage that it is able to analyse any sample for UV transmission / absorbance. This is particularly relevant to the loading of glycols and solvents. The instrument also possesses greater sensitivity for low level inorganic chloride determinations. This is very relevant to solvents, in particular Methanol, which is now routinely analysed by means of UV absorbance prior to, during and after loading.

2. Training Courses

Bespoke training seminars/courses aimed at providing an understanding of basic chemistry, cargo tank inspection, wall wash sampling & analysis and related cargo handling practices. These courses are appropriate for companies trading in both the Chemicals and Clean Petroleum Products (CPP) markets. Participants receive a Certificate of Attendance.

3. Industry Related Projects

Our knowledge of chemistry and the requirements of the Chemical / CPP charterers, which are constantly changing, enables us to investigate industry related challenges and formulate innovative and cost effective laboratory based solutions aimed at maximizing the operational efficiency of the fleet.

Current projects are expected to open up new areas of business for our principals.
